I recently attended your Stargazing event and your Introduction to Astronomy Course, finding both really interesting.
As a result I joined the NLO yesterday evening. I spent some time wandering between the various telescopes that were set up outside. First impressions are; everyone was very friendly and happy to answer my elementary questions; it was also seriously cold.
I don't have any equipment other than a DSLR so I will probably drive others mad as I try to understand what bits of kit do what.
Looking forward to further meetings.

Hi Pete, welcome to our group and the NLO, you won't drive us mad we are all use to the steep learning curve and we all have questions etc.

Hi pete

We all start somewhere, apart from the weather last night was a really good night. It is nice to see the grounds bustling with people who all share the same interest.
Feel free to ask as many questions as you like either here or on Fridays, that's what we are there for, to share our knowledge and learn, i should know as I have learned so much since my first visit to the nlo in august last year.
