I've been a member of the NLO for about 6 months and am finally starting to find my feet! I've spoken to a few of you already on a Friday evening, seeking advice on 'which telescope/mount' to buy (very helpful - much appreciated!). After lots of thinking and research I think I want something I can use to both observe and photograph deep space objects (using my DSLR, and maybe a cheap web cam), rather than the planets and moon. I've been looking at the Skywatcher EQ5 Pro Syncscan Go-To and the Celestron CG-5 GT Go-To. It would be great if I could find something similar (or better!) second hand, plus an appropriate scope (I'm a bit stuck on that though!).
If any of you hear of second hand stuff can you give me a shout? I'll be down at the NLO friday night :-) Cheers JoC
Hello JoC, if you see something on the ABS website put a post up here in the What's New section and someone will give you an opinion. You can't really go wrong with an HEQ5 Pro or CG5GT but the latter if bought new is best bought together with a scope, C6, C8 SCT or Newtonion, have a look onthe FirstLight Optics website.
